I see all these backpackers acting like they can support someone else; comedy. Old guys who end up giving it all to their wife’s family and 11 brothers. Sin Sot in the millions. Monthly payments to help family members.
Farangs are known for being rich. You farangs hopefully want to help people have a better life. Give a poorer person a chance at life, start a family, help her parents, do whatever it takes instead of smiling and worrying if you have 20 or 25 baht in your pocket for a bowl of noodle soup.
Let’s say you are a farang, 35-years old. Girl is 30, no kids, yet.
Sin Sot : 1,000,000 minimum (I’ve asked at least 20 mothers at restaurants, hotel owners, teachers with older daughters, etc……this number just sounds good to them. lol).
Gold: 3 baht in weight or whatever. Let’s just say 150,000 baht, anyhow.

Now comes the hard part. Supporting her and your kid (not yet born) for the next 50 years.
With inflation, gotta imagine about 50,000 baht every month forever should average it all out.
50,000 x 12 x 50 or I’m hoping around 30,000,000 (or exactly, anyhow).
That makes sense, I figure 15,000,000 is OK for an old guy to retire in LOS.
30,000,000 plus some headaches and the 400,000 in the bank and whatever but then you will live like a cheap charlie for a few months or years and whatever. Maybe you will take a bank loan for a house, you gotta buy a car, education for the kids, etc…..
Thirty million baht to be a good farang hoping to make someone’s life better, start a family, and living the LOS dream.
I can’t imagine a Thai girl who wants a farang who can’t improve her quality of life.
Farangs usually give up on this path, look around, and say, “Hey, I can’t speak Thai but can I live with your parents and give you 2000 baht every other year and I promise I’ll only eat rice!!!” LOL.
Come on farangs, get back to work and get that money!!!!
