Thailand’s sustainable tourism experiences showcased at ITB Asia 2023


The Tourism Authority of Thailand and 19 Thai exhibitors highlighted sustainable tourism experiences at ITB Asia 2023. Thailand aims to attract 800,000 visitors from Singapore by the end of the year.

TAT Showcases Thailand’s Meaningful Travel and Sustainable Tourism Experiences at ITB Asia 2023

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and 19 Thai exhibitors recently participated in ITB Asia 2023, held from 25 to 27 October in Singapore. This marks TAT’s 15th year attending the event, where they showcased a range of meaningful travel and sustainable tourism experiences available in Thailand.

The Thailand Stand featured reusable decoration items from previous trade events, along with new materials for future use. The TAT Information Counter provided information on sustainable tourism experiences, while DIY workshops highlighted traditional Thai flags and batik clothing designs.

TAT’s Successful Participation at ITB Asia 2023

Mrs. Ruedee Cheawsamoot, Director of the TAT ASEAN, South Asia, and South Pacific Market Division, confirmed the success of Thailand’s participation at ITB Asia 2023. The survey conducted on sellers at the Thailand Stand revealed a total of 721 business appointments, with 40% expected to result in contracts. The sellers expressed an 82% satisfaction rate with the marketing activities at similar B2B tradeshows. This annual presence at ITB Asia is part of TAT’s marketing efforts in the Singapore market, which is one of Thailand’s top ten source markets.

Thailand’s Appeal to Singaporean Travelers

Thailand continues to be a popular destination among Singaporean travelers, with top destinations including Bangkok, Phuket, Chon Buri, Krabi, Songkhla, Prachuap Khiri Khan, and Chiang Mai. Singaporeans enjoy activities such as trying Thai food, indulging in massage and spa treatments, exploring historical sites, experiencing the vibrant nightlife, and immersing themselves in local communities. From January to October, Thailand welcomed 738,761 visitors from Singapore, and this number is expected to reach 800,000 by the end of the year.
