Thailand’s hotel quarantine scheme has been a big part of its COVID-19 strategy. And so far it’s worked

For one reason or another, most people who’ve endured two weeks of coronavirus hotel quarantine have found it to be a challenging time.

But in Thailand, just getting to the hotel is an intense process in itself.

Far from dreading the door closing behind me as my family and I walked into our Bangkok quarantine hotel room, I took off my mask and breathed a deep sigh of relief. We had made it.

Thailand’s entry process for foreigners right now is strict and confronting, but smooth and safe.

Just over a year ago, it was the first country outside China to record a case of COVID-19.
