The Thai government has launched this floating initiative to bring in a hoped-for US$70 million in yacht tourism revenue, the BBC reports. Tourism brings in about a fifth of Thailand’s gross domestic product. The pandemic saw the number of tourists plummet from between 40,000 and 50,000 a day to just hundreds. Visitors will still need a negative coronavirus test to be able to board.
