Thailand Tax Agency Clarifies Conditions for Corporate Income Tax Exemption for Employee Training, Education Expenses

The Thai Revenue Department Nov. 16 issued Announcement No. 441, clarifying the criteria and conditions of the 150 percent income tax exemption for companies or juristic partnerships that incur costs for employee training or education in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics between Jan. 1, 2023, and Dec. 31, 2025. The announcement provides that: 1) the employer must be sending employees to courses that have been certified by one of the various authorities; and 2) the education or training must commence by Dec. 31, 2025, and be beneficial to the employer’s business.
