Thailand says it has discovered world’s third-largest lithium reserves


BANGKOK — Thai officials have reported the discovery of lithium deposits that they describe as the world’s third-largest reserves of the key battery-making material for electric vehicles.

Lithium deposits were found at two locations in the southern province of Phang-Nga. One location is estimated to contain 14.8 million tonnes while the other site is still being surveyed.
