Adverse weather is forecast across much of the country through at least May 16. As of early May 11, the Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal which will probably develop into a tropical cyclone; continuous and heavy rain is likely over Thailand May 11-16. Authorities have advised residents to be vigilant of the dangers of thunderstorms. Gusty winds, lightning, and hail are possible during thunderstorms.

Strong winds could fell trees and power lines as well as cause damage to unsecured infrastructure. Flooding and landslides are possible in areas where thunderstorms produce intense rainfall. Large waves are forecast in the Andaman Sea through May 15.
