Thai gamers charge attack Twitter to celebrate ‘Genshin Selca Day’

A popular action-RPG with inescapable internet ads is trending in the Thai Twittersphere because today is “Genshin Selca Day,” apparently.

In a testament to the game’s breakout popularity, social media today is packed with hundreds (and counting!) of kawaii selfies posted by Thai players of the massive online game under #GenshinSelcaDay.

WTF is a Selca Day, you ask? Selca is Korean for selfie and a prevalent term among the stans, who post a collage of selfies and their favorite K-people on certain days of the month. Given our obsession with anything that comes after the letter K, many here have embraced the trend.

Selca Days don’t have to be solely for K-pop bands. Fans can get creative with whatever topics they please. And they can be any day too.
