Thai family just hanging around

Me and my wife just had a baby, my wife is Thai/Chinese. We live in Bangkok and my wife’s family is from Bangkok too.

Her mother moved in to help us with the initial care and I know this is normal in a lot of Asian countries and has been ok.

However her brothers and their girlfriends and her father, uncles and aunties etc are also coming here a lot and sleeping here occasionally too. They just kinda do nothing and just chill around the place on their phones all day and eat food… it’s a bit annoying when we are trying to do baby stuff and they are just in the way.

Is this normal Thai family behaviour lol? I know Thais are very family oriented but they just kinda hang around without motive.
