THAI extends leave without pay

Thai Airways International (THAI) is extending its leave-without-pay (LWOP) scheme for another 12 months, as the ailing flag carrier continues to struggle to meet its financial obligations.

A source said THAI acting CEO and chief of human resources Suvadhana Sibunruang has issued an internal memo announcing the latest extension of the LWOP scheme on Tuesday.

The scheme, which will be in effect for 12 months, begins on ๋July 1. According to the source, the scheme complies with the resolutions reached by the airline’s rehabilitation plan administrators on June 9.
