Khanom Krok, a Thai dessert pancake, has been ranked the world’s fourth best pancake and the best in Southeast Asia in February’s Tasteatlas listing.
The website ranked the top 50 pancakes globally, including seven from Southeast Asia. The top three are France’s crepe, Germany’s Kaiserschmarrn and China’s Jianbing.
Khanom Krok is made of a mixture of rice flour, sugar and coconut milk, with or without toppings such as shredded taro, shredded corn kernels or coriander leaves, after the batter is fried.
