Teen Stabbed on Pattaya Beach in 2 AM Altercation, Three Surrender

A chaotic scene unfolded on Pattaya Beach early Friday morning as a group of teenagers engaged in a physical altercation, resulting in one 18-year-old being stabbed with a sharpened rebar.

The incident, which occurred around 2:00 AM on December 29th, 2023, left the victim, identified only as Jack, with a deep wound in his back.

Responding to the emergency call, Pattaya police and Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rescue personnel swiftly arrived at the incident scene on Pattaya Beach approximately only 200 meters away from the police station. Jack was found bleeding profusely from the rebar piercing his back and received immediate medical attention before being rushed to the hospital. The assailant had fled by the time authorities arrived, leaving behind a crowd of concerned onlookers.

According to a statement from Jack, the attack was unprovoked. He claimed that he was approached by a group of teenagers whom he did not know. They began verbally taunting him before suddenly stabbing him in the back with a sharpened rebar when he was looking away. They then ran away from the scene.

In the aftermath of the attack, Pattaya police immediately began hunting for the suspects. The beach was evacuated, and officers scoured the area for witnesses and surveillance footage.

By 4:30 AM on December 29th, a significant development emerged as three individuals, including Ek (alias), also 18 years old, and two others aged 15-19, voluntarily surrendered themselves to the Pattaya Police Station.

Ek reportedly confessed to stabbing the victim, though maintained it was an act of self-defense. He claimed that the altercation stemmed from a conflict between his younger brother and the victim. However, he added that he had neither known nor met Jack before.

The Pattaya police are attempting to determine the precise sequence of events and ensure fair legal proceedings for everyone involved.
