A person has been caught allegedly sitting an assistant teacher recruitment examination for someone else in Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Education Minister Trinuch Thienthong yesterday said cheating, in which the person sitting the exam was paid to take the place of the applicant, was detected in the civil service examinations for assistant teacher positions on Feb 5-6. Some 170,000 people applied to take the exams, Ms Trinuch said.
The Office of the Basic Education Commission (Obec) will take legal action against the two people involved, Ms Trinuch said. Obec director-general Amporn Pinasa said one of the suspects, a Maha Sarakham local, attempted to take an exam for an applicant and used a forged ID card to enter the exam room.
If found guilty, both persons involved in the alleged cheating will be prohibited from obtaining civil service employment.
