Mr. Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayudhya, Director of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB revealed that TCEB is scheduled to hold MICE Standards Day 2021 on August 26 to raise the standards of Thai venues to be accepted internationally. This year is the first time that the event will be held in the form of a virtual event via online media (Virtual Event). It is estimated that more than 350 MICE entrepreneurs will attend the event.

“Standards have become very important due to the COVID-19 epidemic. TCEB has accelerated its efforts to raise the Thailand MICE Venue Standard (TMVS) by adding sanitation guidelines for MICE Industry (MICE Venue Hygiene Guidelines) for venues, organizers and attendees and Thailand is the first country to develop and raise the ASEAN MICE Venue Standard (AMVS) when working together to build confidence in organizing events safely in all regions across the country. Thai MICE will compete well.”

Based on this approach, TCEB has decided to organize the MICE Standards Day 2021 through an online event. which was honored by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health presided over the opening ceremony The awarding ceremony of various standard symbols This year, there are 194 TMVS certified establishments, divided into 3 categories: 169 meeting rooms, 472 rooms, and 10 exhibition venues. 16 halls and 15 special event venues

As for the establishments that have received the AMVS standard, a total of 28 places are divided into 2 categories: 25 meeting rooms and 3 exhibition venues. In addition, plaques of honor were awarded to 4 associations related to the MICE industry and one agency, namely, Event Creative Business Association (EMA), Exhibition Association (Thai) (TEA), Thai Hotels Association (THA). , International Conference Promotion Association (Thai) (TICA), and Department of Skill Development Ministry of Labor To honor and express our gratitude as the main partner agency that has continually developed the MICE industry together.

In addition, the event also organized seminar activities related to MICE industry standards. by qualified speakers from the MICE industry and food management and food safety experts. Be a participant in the knowledge transfer on the topic “Food Waste and Ways to Manage Excess Food in MICE Businesses” and “How to Manage MICE Venues to Appreciate Muslim Customers”

“In 2022, TCEB has set a target of auditing 155 more venue standards in Thailand and will study the possibility of adding new types of certification standards. Including the drafting of standards for Muslim-friendly events to expand the scope of standards to support more events. in terms of ASEAN venue standards will accelerate the standardization of special event venues to be accepted at the ASEAN level to prepare to support the driving of the MICE industry in the region in a new era,” said Mr. Chirut.
