superrich – bizarre experience

Well this was a first – went to the tiny superrich booth at BTS Siam to change some UK banknotes for baht. Got three £10 notes from the bundle handed back to me as they were ‘dirty’.

They were straight out of a UK ATM and were totally unused, uncreased and unmarked so I was a little confused, to say the least.

Asked her to point out exactly what she was referring to … and she pointed to a part of the security watermark at the edge of the note …

I guess if the notes didnt conform to her idea of what a £10 note should look like then she wasnt having any of it. Bank of England clearly need to try harder!

Was annoyed at the time but now am just amused :/
