Supanida Katethong claimed her breakthrough victory after winning the US$210,000 BWF US Open in Iowa on Monday morning (Thai time).
Sixth seed Supanida defeated China’s Gao Fangjie 21-15, 21-16 to win the women’s singles title at the BWF World Tour Super 300 event at Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
It is Supanida’s maiden World Tour title.
