Supanida, Aimsaard sisters seal places in semi-finals

Supanida Katethong plays in the women’s singles quarter-finals yesterday.

Thailand’s Supanida Katethong reached the women’s singles semi-finals of the US$210,000 Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters at Nimibutr Stadium yesterday.

The home star, ranked No.25 in the world, comfortably beat No.47 Sim Yu-Jin of South Korea in 33 minutes in the quarter-finals of the Super 300 tournament.

She meets seventh seed Zhang Yiman of China in the last four today.

The world No.18 Chinese defeated Taiwan’s Pai Yu-po 21-16, 22-20 in the last eight.

Fourth seed Han Yue of China defeated sixth seed Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt of Denmark 21-13, 21-10.

She will next face Taiwan’s Hsu Wen-chi who upset eighth seed Im Ga-eun of South Korea 17-21,…
