The renowned “Loy Krathong Pao Tien Len Fai” festival is scheduled to take place from November 18 to 27 at Wat Mahathat within the Sukhothai Historical Park, said Suchart Teekasuk, the province’s governor. This marks the 46th edition of the event.
The festival would showcase Sukhothai’s well-known traditions, which have gained international acceptance and contributed to the country’s soft power, Suchart said.
The event features a variety of activities, including a fireworks display, a cultural parade highlighting local traditions, a krathong competition, a Khon performance (a traditional Thai dance drama), the Noppamat beauty pageant competition, and exhibitions for the sale of crafts and products made locally.
