Srettha meets airlines about boosting tourist arrivals by year end

Prime Minister-elect Srettha Thavisin held talks with representatives of eight airlines, Airports of Thailand (AoT) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) today (Monday), seeking cooperation to boost tourist arrivals during the last quarter of this year.

The prime minister reminded those at the meeting that the fourth quarter is peak tourist season and is important in stimulating the economy. As such, the government is keen to take steps now to prepare the country to accommodate the arrivals of tourists, which are expected to spike.

Kerati Kitmanawat, president of AOT, said that the eight airlines will report to the prime minister and his team today on the outcome of discussions about how to accommodate more flights from China at Thailand’s six main airports.
