Spontaneous solo trip to Thailand, any suggestions welcome!

Finished exams, got about 4 weeks until classes start again, so I thought I’d spend 2 weeks travelling in Thailand.

This is my first time leaving the country alone, I’ve budgeted around A$2-2.5k, which I believe is more than enough to cover flights and all expenses.

I’ve got a general idea about what I want to do:

**Day 1-2: Bangkok**

* Explore the historical sites in Bangkok, such as the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)
* Visit the Chatuchak Weekend Market, try a wide variety of fresh/exotic fruits

**Day 3-6: Chiang Mai**

* Take a flight to Chiang Mai and explore the Old City, which is filled with ancient temples like Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang
* Visit the Elephant Nature Park, a sanctuary where you can observe and interact with rescued elephants
* Explore the vibrant night markets
* Get a tattoo at a reputable tattoo studio

**Day 7-9: Ayutthaya**

* Take a train or bus to Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient ruins and temples
* Explore the Ayutthaya Historical Park, including Wat Mahathat and Wat Phra Si Sanphet
* Enjoy meals at local restaurants like White Lotus and Baan Khun Pra

**Day 10-11: Phuket**

* Fly to Phuket and relax on the beautiful beaches
* Visit the Big Buddha, a famous landmark with stunning views of the island
* Explore the old town of Phuket and try restaurants like Pure Vegan Heaven and We Cafe

**Day 12-14: Koh Samui**

* Take a ferry to Koh Samui, a tropical island known for its beautiful beaches and lush landscapes.
* Visit Wat Plai Laem and Wat Phra Yai (home to the famous Big Buddha statue)
* Explore the local markets
* Relax on the beaches + go snorkeling
* Get a spa/massage treatment

Thank you!
