Just got to Chiang Mai yesterday so having my first experiences with Songthaew’s. I know that you can ask the driver for a private transfer but I’m wondering how likely a driver would be to take us outside of the city (private or not). We’re looking at going to places like Royal Park Rajapruek, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, and Huay Tueng Thai Reservoir. Also hopefully Doi Inthanon Park but that’s way further. Any info would be helpful – do I just ask like regular and they may or may not say yes? Should I ask for a price before I get in or just wing it?
