About 6.55 million people used trains to travel around Bangkok, to other destinations and back to the capital during the six-day Songkran period, an increase of 21.22% percent over the same period last year, according to the Department of Rail Transport.
793,018 people used trains yesterday, the last day of the Songkran long holidays, but this was 10.55% below projections.
6,071,358 used electric trains in Bangkok and its suburbs, on the Green, Blue, Gold, Yellow, Pink, Red and Purple lines, as well as the Airport Link, while 485,323 people used the services of the State Railway of Thailand.
