I am employed in Thailand and get the social security, but many of my Thai colleagues are buying extra health insurance.
They are saying that even if you go to the hospital assigned, not everything will be covered.
From what I understand, SSO is supposed to cover everything as long as I go to the hospital I was assigned, so I am confused why people may buy extra insurance.
They only benefit I see of extra insurance is the fact that you don’t have to wait to see a doctor and that the room may be private instead of shared.
