Small teams eye upsets in FA Cup amidst coronavirus uncertainty

In normal times, this week’s FA Cup third round would create bit of a buzz.

It is when the heavyweight clubs join the competition and there is always excitement if one of the small clubs takes on a giant from the Premier League.

It’s even better when one of the big clubs succumbs, although admittedly that doesn’t happen much these days.

The draw this week is nicely set up, with four non-league clubs having tasty home fixtures against Premier League and Championship clubs.

Unfortunately, with the Covid-19 problem, the times are far from normal.

With the lack of spectators to roar on the underdogs in their small stadiums, it will not be anywhere near the same.

Even so, there are some promising fixtures and as always in this stage of the Cup, you never know what might happen.
