Single-use plastic

Currently loving my first visit to Thailand. Been to BKK, Chiang Mai, Ao Nang, Railway beach, Khao Sok and Koh Phangan. All amazing places. But why is there still so much single-use plastic everywhere? At each place I’ve been to you get your juice or cocktail in a plastic cup and very often you get a plastic straw in plastic packaging? Why the hell is that?

And the amount of plastic bottles being sold everywhere and everyday…

When I look up this topic I do read about the government implementing a ban on single use plastic but it doesn’t really seem to be working.
