Shopee, a major e-marketplace in Asean, is ramping up a marketing strategy to broaden its customer base beyond youngsters to boost sales through the platform amid a sluggish economy.
Shopee, which is part of the global consumer internet firm Sea, chose to use Jackie Chan, the Chinese martial arts actor and superstar, as a major presenter in its 9.9 sale festival as part of its strategy to expand its customer base.
“We continue our promotion and marketing activities to attract new users to this platform,” said Suchaya Paleewong, senior marketing manager of Shopee Thailand. “We also want to help brands increase sales.”
