Security Guard in Banglamung Killed After Crashing Motorbike into Tree

Banglamung —

A security guard was found deceased by his friend in the Banglamung district early yesterday morning after he had crashed his motorbike into a roadside tree after leaving a party.

The body of 43-year-old Somchai Saengrung, a security guard at Laem Chabang Port, was discovered on Sukhumvit Road near the entrance of Soi Banglamung 29, Banglamung sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi, at 2:16 AM on November 3rd.

Responding to the accident, the Sawang Boriboon rescue team stated that Mr. Somchai had succumbed to serious injuries. He had crashed his white Honda Click, registered in Chonburi, into a tree and met his immediate demise. His body was transported to Banglamung Hospital for further funeral arrangements.

In an interview with 29-year-old Chairat Boonchu, who was the first person to spot the body, he revealed that he was actually the friend of the victim. He continued his statement by saying that Mr. Somchai worked as a security guard at Laem Chabang Port.

Prior to the accident, Mr. Chairat had just attended a party at a seafood restaurant with Mr. Somchai, which also included watching a live concert and drinking alcohol. However, the victim suddenly disappeared from the party before everyone went their separate ways.

As Mr. Chairat was returning home, he spotted a motorbike fallen by a roadside tree. To his shock, Mr. Somchai’s body was also there, lying in a pool of blood. Mr. Chairat then contacted the authorities for help, but it was too late.

Banglamung police still did not rule on the cause of the accident. They said they would review CCTV footage and interview his friends at the party to gather more evidence.
