Search intensifies for culprits in deadly Pattani ambush as police take action

Royal Thai Police are on a manhunt for assailants responsible for a deadly ambush in Yarang district, Pattani, that resulted in three fatalities and five injuries. The ambush, which took place in front of the Yarang municipal office on the Yarang-Mayo Road, occurred at approximately 10.50pm yesterday.

The attackers, armed with assault rifles and grenades, left a chilling scene. Over 100 spent rifle cartridges littered the area, alongside fragments of grenades. The two-storey municipal office bore the brunt of the attack, its walls now riddled with holes, reported Bangkok Post.

The ambush claimed the lives of 48 year old Police Senior Sergeant Major Tuwaelo Loma, 45 year old defence volunteer Charnwit Dorloh, and 47 year old Narong Rakaew. Five other police officers sustained injuries in the grisly attack.
