Scammed on Facebook Marketplace, now what?

I’ve been ordering stuff on-and-off for about SEVEN years. I guess I was waiting for the outright scam. Dude sent a video of the backpack I wanted, and pictures, we both have bank accounts. AS SOON as I sent the money (1400) I knew something was up. Then soon he left the chat, and a few days later I searched his name online and found a history of scams. OK, I will only buy from established sellers I used before, fine, I learned. 1400 isn’t the end all, but I should tell others.

Question: Out of principle, should I even report this to the police (others must have before, there a list on this name online under “blacklisted seller”)?

Any hope of going to my bank and saying it was a scam?

Anyone with experience in this before? If you have experience, tried to get your money back, didn’t, then I might only make one trip to the bank and then forget about it.
