SAS to launch direct Copenhagen – Bangkok flights

Danish flag carrier SAS Scandinavian Airlines will launch a direct route between Copenhagen in Denmark and Bangkok in Thailand in October this year to meet increasing demand, the airline announced on Tuesday.

SAS first opened a route from Copenhagen to Bangkok way back in 1949, which was discontinued in 2014. Bangkok was SAS’s first-ever destination in East Asia.

The relaunched route’s inaugural flight will take off from Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport (CPH) on October 30, coinciding with the start of Thailand’s high tourist season.

The airline’s “newest and most efficient” 300-seater Airbus A350-900 aircraft will service the route thrice weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The plane is divided into three classes.

Flight SK973 will take off from Copenhagen at 11.30pm local time and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok (BKK) the next day at 5.05pm local time….
