Roof at Construction Site Collapses and Injures 10 Workers in Chonburi

Chonburi —

A roof at a construction site in Chonburi’s Mueang district collapsed and injured 10 workers on Tuesday, July 4th.

The reason for the collapse was still under investigation as of press time. The accident happened at a construction site on Soi Wat Pa Amphawan in the Nong Ri sub-district. Police and medical personnel from Chonburi Hospital rushed to the scene to assist the injured victims.

According to Mr. Jakrapan Yodphet, a 34-year-old construction worker who took care of the construction, 20 workers were building a restaurant when the roof of the building suddenly crumbled. 10 people (7 men and 3 women) were injured by the incident. They were all rushed to Chonburi Hospital.

Mr. Jakrapan said he heard a loud sound before the roof collapsed. All injured individuals were tiling the roof when it broke. None reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries.
