Robots enter service at Chulalongkorn Hospital to help with the paper work

Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital has put five robots into service in the out-patient department. They will ease the workload of general affairs officials in the registration and issuance of ID cards for new patients and will shorten the waiting time for patients.

The use of the robots, named “Mr Sam”, to handle paper work at the hospital, was inaugurated today by Dr. Chanchai Sittipunt, director of the hospital, and Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt.

The robots are part of the hospital’s objective to reduce red tape, improve services for the public and to free medical personnel from non-medical duties through the introduction of new technologies.

Dr ML Kornkiat Snidvongs, deputy director of the hospital, said that that robot technology has advanced substantially and is playing increasing role in human life, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic.
