The following is our regular feature: we ask our community a question and roughly a week later highlight diverse responses and opinions to that question.
Last month, we asked our readers the following:We selected several diverse opinions and responses here. We note that these are the opinions and thoughts of readers and may not necessarily reflect those of Pattaya News Company Limited.-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ken J: The road should be CLOSED 24 hours daily to vehicular traffic. -=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ray K: I think the reverse. Close the road at Dongtan Beach 24 hours a day, except to allow business vehicles for maybe 2 hours per day at a set time -=–==-=-=-=- Campbell T: Recently, there have been incidents of motorbike drag racing along Jomtien Second Road at 3 am and 4 am and noise complaints from residents resulting in the Police taking action so, therefore, even if Dongtan Beach Road is opened up to late-night traffic, it would seem that these incidents may reoccur again. -=-=-=-=-=-= Alfred: There should be a Speed limit of 20 KM and/or closure altogether – except for Beach Vendor Vehicles and deliveries to Businesses along that Road – or make it ONE WAY? I walk along that Road frequently and the amount of traffic is frightening – and during weekends, it’s traffic chaos anyway… -=-=-=-=-=-=-= Rey I: It’s a road. It should be open. -=–=-==-=—- Bungi: Nope already falling apart -=-=-==-=-=-=- Peter C: No ….. But they should put in speed humps to slow down the traffic especially just before pedestrian crossing. -=-=-=-=-=-=-= Seth F: No. It’s nice to let the ocean view into the street -=-==-=-=-=-=-= Gary F: yes. no parking kills the beach operators. -=-=-=-=-=- Many readers responded No, simple and short, notes TPN. -=-=-=—= James S: Up in the air. it would be nice to use it but I am afraid at night it will be a nightmare -=-=-=-=-=-=- Ken L: No, too much traffic uses it when it’s open now. -=-=-=-==-=- -=-=-=-=-=-===-Want to express your opinion?
