Hi! I’ve been renting at this condo near Punnawithi. The first 6 months I paid 10K and the current 6 months 11K. I have 2 months left here. 1 month advance and 2 months deposit (30K).
I’ve always been communicating through the independent agent for this condo but recently the landlord asked the lobby for me to contact him. He said that the agent has given both of us fake contracts. His says that someone with another name is on his and is paying 12.5K. Mine is on my name and paying 10K. The agent has taken my first month as commission and all the other months she has been paying him 12.5K. The landlord said that she intends to take the total 2 months deposit at the end but the landlord has it and says he’ll give it straight to me to avoid any problems (this has happened to him before with the same agency).
I’m not sure what is happening here? Seems like even if she steals my deposit, she’s making a really small profit? Maybe her business model runs on cash flow? Anyone else has experienced this and should I report it after I’ve left?
