Ratchanok sets up date with Yamaguchi

Ratchanok Intanon will take on Akane Yamaguchi in the women’s singles quarter-finals of the US$1,250,000 BWF Indonesia Open in Jakarta on Friday.

Eighth seed Ratchanok defeated fellow Thai Pornpawee Chochuwong 21-13, 21-17 to set up a last-eight clash with the Japanese world No.1 at the World Tour Super 1000 event.

Top seed Yamaguchi defeated Putri Kusuma Wardini of Indonesia 21-15 21-11.

Ratchanok has yet to win a title this year. Her last tournament win came at the 2022 Malaysia Open in July.
