A western disturbance is set to impact parts of North and Northwest India. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated to scatted rainfall or snowfall is likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile, isolated rainfall is expected over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on these two days.

After this feeble western disturbance receding, a more powerful one is ready to affect Western Himalayan Region from Sunday. The best snowfall will be across Jammu & Kashmir, northern Himachal Pradesh, and northern Uttarakhand from Sunday through Tuesday, with a total snow accumulation of 30 – 75 cm.
