Quick Crucible exit fails to dampen Thepchaiya’s zeal

Thailand’s Thepchaiya Un-nooh went down to four-time world champion John Higgins 10-7 in the opening round of the world snooker championship on Wednesday but vowed to return to the Crucible stronger.

Scottish veteran Higgins could face another Thai player in the next round as Noppon Saengkham gained a 6-3 advantage over 11th-ranked Belgian on Wednesday. The second session of the first-round battle was to be played last night, Thai time.
