Employers and employees are allowed to defer or stop financial contributions to company provident funds for another six months, a senior Finance Ministry official said on Monday.
The decision by the Finance Ministry was published in the Royal Gazette on Friday and became effective on Saturday.
It means both employers and employees are allowed to extend the contributions suspension programme which ended last month for another six months, until the end of June, Kulaya Tantitemit, acting director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office, said.
The postponement would ease the financial burden on companies and staff, with businesses hit by the second wave of Covid-19.
