Potentially bizarre question about Thai-specific gesture (or I’m being dumb)

So I used to live in this glorious country for 3 years, now I’m back for a few months or more and had an unexpected weekend where I met up with a former friend/coworker (Thai) and out of absolutely nowhere our previously completely platonic friendship turned into a whirlwind romance.

Anyway, we’re riding the BTS to the airport this morning, holding hands and I absent-mindedly stroked the inside of her palm with my finger, she giggled and said ‘you know what this means, right?’ I didn’t, she suggested that ‘maybe it’s a Thai thing’

I’ve tried googling it since she left and all I’m getting is that it can be considered as flirty (no shit, you’re already holding hands) or implying that you want to sleep with them (didn’t know that, fair enough)

Can someone more culturally astute than me please help me out here?
