A late rally helped Port escape a shock home defeat at the hands of Thai League 1 cellar-dwellers Nongbua Pitchaya as they eked out a 2-1 win last night.
Nongbua Pitchaya took the lead with a goal from Alvin Fortes in the last minute of the first half when he converted a penalty kick after Port’s Elias Dolah was penalised for committing a handball inside the box.
In the second half, Port had several chances but Bordin Phala and Worachit Kanitsribumphen were denied by the Nongbua defence.
Port equalised in the 81st minute when Hamilton Soares chipped the ball over a wall of Nongbua defenders.
Two minutes later, Port netted the face-saving winner…
