Phuket Vacation- Simcard airport or store?

Hello friends, coming to Phuket this weekend for an 8 day solo trip. I will be purchasing a simcard for the duration of my stay. Had a few doubts if anyone can help? –

1. Should I buy it from airport or 7/11/Big C store? A friend who has been recently said that it’s more expensive at the airport and cheaper to buy it from a store?

2. I hear there are three main companies AIS, Dtc etc which provider would you suggest has good service and 4g speeds and good connection and stability in Patong?

-p.s I’m aware of esims but i don’t want to go that route.
