We are two families (6ppl + 4ppl) travelling Thailand for about 2 weeks; a last minute booking which is somewhat terrifying. December 26 to January 9.
We would like to stay in one place as long as possible so Phuket is likely homebase for 10 days and perhaps head to Chaing Mai for 2-4 days. Seems a villa in Phuket is a better option than hotels for our larger family.
Is it possible to stay in Phuket and still be able to visit Phi Phi Islands, Krabi, Ko Lanta, etc.? If so, can you recommend how best to do this?
After visit the south, we plan to fly to Chaing Mai for a few nights and wondering how long would be best to stay there before leaving Thailand for Hong Kong or Japan.
Also, if you have any tour guides, private drivers or anyone else you would recommend to help keep us both safe and comfortably tour as much as possible, please let me know.
