Photographer reveals the many shades of Bangkok

The dazzling, confounding facets of contemporary Bangkok are revealed during “Tango In The Big Mango”, which is running at Kathmandu Photo Gallery, until Aug 26.

On display are images from an illustrated book of the same title by renowned German documentary art photographer Peter Nitsch who presents a distinctive, raw portrait of this bustling city through a combination of documentary, street photography and conceptual photography.

In this series of photographs, his theme is the metropolis of Bangkok explored over a period of time, capturing various people and situations, the lives of individuals from a range of social classes, from the “somebody” to the “nobody”.
