Petitioner Srisuwan’s attacker given 15 days in prison

The man who attacked serial petitioner and political activist Srisuwan Janya in front of the media at the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) last October 18 has been sentenced to 15 days in prison.

Phattarapong Supakson, the lawyer for Weerawit Rungruangsiripol said in his Facebook post today (Wednesday) that the Bangkok North District court found his client guilty of attacking Srisuwan and sentenced him to 15 days in prison on Tuesday without suspension, because his client did not apologise for the unprovoked assault and refused to pay compensation to the victim.

He says he will appeal the conviction to the higher court.

Srisuwan went to the CIB on October 18 to lodge a complaint against well-known comedian, Udom Taephanich, accusing him of ridiculing the Prayut government during his talk show.
