Paying with AliPay in Thailand

most chinese tourists are using AliPay in Thailand to pay in restaurants and other stores.

I used AliPay in China 5 years ago to pay and its really convenient. So I wanted to pay in Thailand as well with AliPay.

I can´t use my old AliPay account any longer because for whatever reason I can´t access it.

So I created a new AliPay account, got it verified, asked my buddy to transfer some money to it so I can test it.

I could not pay in restaurants or family mart.

I added a visa and mastercard, but it won´t let me use it to top up my AliPay balance or use it to pay directly

Is anyone using AliPay successfully to pay in Thailand?

If yes, what are you doing differently than me?
