Pattaya Shop Owner Loses Half a Million Baht in Consecutive Burglaries

Pattaya —

A shop owner in Pattaya is in distress after being burglarized twice in two days, with the thieves making off with an estimated 500,000 baht worth of goods, according to the owner.

The first burglary took place on December 2nd, when the thieves broke into the shop located in Soi Thrappraya 15, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. The thieves stole an air conditioner compressor, a water filter, a water heater, a gas stove set, a light kit, a locker, an electricity meter, a water pump, electrical wires, and speaker components. The owner, Mr. Win, who has asked to use an assumed name, was devastated by the incident.

However, just two days later, on December 4th, the thieves struck again, returning to Mr. Win’s shop and stealing even more items. The owner is now pleading with the Pattaya police to help him catch the culprits and prevent any further losses as he said he has already suffered a combined loss of over 500,000 baht.

In the aftermath of the first burglary, Mr. Win revealed that he contemplated hiring security guards to protect his property. However, due to December 2nd and 3rd being the weekend, he was unable to find anyone available. Mr. Win stated that the thieves returned for the second time and stole a heap of items that they had piled up in his shop just before he could implement any security measures.

Mr. Win expressed his fear that the thieves might return to continue their looting. He has made a plea to the Pattaya Police for assistance in preventing further incidents and apprehending the culprits responsible for these brazen thefts.
