Pattaya, Chonburi, Thailand – On February 3rd, 2026, the Chonburi Provincial Sangha held a collective pa pa (cloth offering) ceremony at the ordination hall of Wat Chai Mongkol, a royal temple (Phra Aram Luang), in Pattaya.

The event was organized to raise funds for Pali studies, supporting a training project for the Dhamma-Pali Department (Pali curriculum). This includes preparation from Prayok 1–2 up to Parian Dhamma 5 levels ahead of the national Sanam Luang examinations.

On the monastic side, Phra Dhamma Wachiralangkarn, Advisor to the Ecclesiastical Region 13, presided over the sangha portion. Phra Thep Wachirapannyaphon, Acting Provincial Ecclesiastical Head of Chonburi and Abbot of Wat Chai Mongkol, chaired the project. He received the bang sukun cloth and delivered an anumodana (rejoicing) speech, sharing merit with the faithful devotees.

Representing the lay community, Mr. Anusak Piriyamorn, District Chief of Banglamung, presided over the ceremony. The gathering included distinguished guests such as Mr. Damrongkiat Phinitchakan, Vice Mayor of Pattaya City, members of the Pattaya City Council, and a large number of Buddhist participants.

The total amount collected through the collective pa pa cloth offering for the Chonburi Provincial Sangha’s Pali education initiative reached 420,700 baht (four hundred twenty thousand seven hundred baht).

Wat Chai Mongkol Royal Temple operates a religious studies center dedicated to promoting the teaching and learning of Pali Dhamma-Pariyatti (Pali scriptural studies).
