Pattaya Authorities Vow to Finish All Road Repairs by March 2024

Pattaya —

In response to mounting complaints from businesses and tourists, Pattaya City officials came out to announce that all major road surface repair projects, which have been scattered around the city, will be completed by March 2024.

Despite the projects having caused some inconvenience to residents and visitors, officials said they are necessary to improve the city’s infrastructure.

At a recent meeting held between the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association and city officials, association chairman Mr. Boonanant Pattanasin raised concerns about the ongoing roadworks. He said that the excavations and construction have disrupted traffic and created an unpleasant atmosphere for tourists, especially during the upcoming high season.

Deputy Mayor Mr. Manoch Nongyai acknowledged the concerns and explained that the projects are taking longer than expected due to the need to minimize disruptions to tourists. He said that workers are not able to work on Saturdays and Sundays, and that working at night is also limited due to Pattaya’s status as a always-busy tourist destination.

Despite the challenges, Mr. Manoch said that major road repair projects are expected to be finished by March 2024. Only a few areas, such as parts of Jomtien Beach Road, may still be under construction at that time, he said.

Officials are urging businesses and tourists to be patient as the projects continue. They say that the improvements to the city’s infrastructure will be worth the inconvenience in the long run.
