Patong too flooded?

A friend and I are heading to Thailand this weekend (Friday) – spending a few days in Bangkok and then planned to head to Phuket and stay in patong for ~5days.
Since then we have seen videos and posts regarding heavy flooding in the area over the past couple days. We’re wondering whether we should reroute and go somewhere else, or soldier on and head to patong.
Are floods like this frequent enough in patong that it’ll be dealt with by next week? Or does anyone have any other suggestions about best places to go instead and avoid the weather?
