BG Pathum will begin their defence of the Thai League 1 title away at Chonburi next month following yesterday’s draw.
The 2021/22 season is scheduled to kick off on Sept 3 as the opening date was postponed twice from July 31 and Aug 13 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
But the league said it could be postponed for the third time because of a new surge in Covid-19 cases and the government’s strict coronavirus protocols in certain provinces.
Other matches in the opening weekend from Sept 3-5 include Buriram United v Suphanburi, Port v Police Tero and Prachuap v Muang Thong United.
Kick-off times will be 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.
